I fell in love with Melissa 24 yrs ago, 4 years after meeting we married. I was job foreman, and certified 6G pipe welder for the same company for over 20 yrs, my name is Blane. Melissa has been in customer service and inside sales for a major tool company most of her life. We have two children, a handsome, witty, very mechanically inclined 12 yr old son Zackery and has his sites set on being an architect or mechanical engineer. Our princess Bailey is about to be 11, she loves the outdoors, very artistic and wants nothing more than to be a veterinarian. We're your normal family with goals n dreams. Two yrs ago Melissa was diognost with Breast Cancer. We had no idea how drastically this would change all of our lives forever. So while going through her first rounds of chemotherapy she started complaining of pain on her spine. More test revealed a tumor. Her need for me started to grow more and more. Her ability to work ended due to pain. My ability to work ended after a back and knee injury and the obvious fact that her health was deteriorating quickly as we spent more and more time at the ER, hospital stays, Dr visits and care after chemo treatments. As the pain got worse more test where done and it was discovered the cancer had metastasized (moved) into her bones. About 2 months ago while window shopping used cars with our Son, Melissa slipped in wet grass landing on her tail bone and broke her neck. At the hospital again, this time to be told due to the cancer in her bones, her neck was inoperable and new scans of her brain had revealed 2 tumors deep inside. I took Melissa to 6 rounds of Radiation treatment of which was understandably terrifying given the possibility of perminant brain damage. At this point we have lost our dream home, both of our vehicles, where forced to move into an old 2 bedroom trailer and buy an old car w over 200k miles to do all we can for her. we're grateful to have a home and a car but the kids are having difficulty with the cramped quarters and I feel horrible asking them to share a room. I am currently sitting next to Melissa on the 6th floor, North Tower, at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville Ga. We're here this time because of another tumor on her spine that was incredibly painful and took away her ability to walk. She's recovering from emergency surgery done Friday. Melissa is terminal with her 49th Birthday coming November 11th. She's feeling guilty over being sick, but you'd have to know what a giving, loving, generous, kind soul she has. She cries over leaving Zack n Bailey too soon. She cries over leaving me too soon. As a Family we've cried a lot. We have depleted all resources to keep Zack n Bailey's lives as normal as possible. We have always loved to help people and took great pride in never having to ask for help. Friends of ours have convinced us we've done all we can and it's time to swallow pride and reach out. So this is VERY difficult to do. But at the same time there is nothing I won't do for my wife and children. To sum things up, My best friend is terminal with Brain and Bone cancer...we have two very intelligent, kind hearted children that despite everything are still doing great in school. We've lost everything, flat broke and on the verge of being homeless. If you've read this far and aren't in a position to help. I haven't always been a very religious man but Ive recently seen the power of prayer, so please just add Melissa, Bailey n Zack n your Prayers. Thank you and God bless, Sincerely, a very humbled Husband and Father, Blane
