Help Izzy Run Again

Hi guys, my name is Neal and I'm fundraising to help my cousin Steven pay for his dog Izzy's surgery to help her walk again.

Izzy is more than just a pet to my cousin, she's his support animal who accompanies him everywhere he goes - and the only reason she hasn't been registered is my cousin wasn't sure how to get that done. Izzy is an 8 year old tiny bundle of energy, who loves her daddy, her squeaky squeeze toys, and to run around in circles chasing her tail in her daddy's car or boat.

Steven is a commercial fisherman, a small business owner in South Louisiana who sells shrimp and crawfish. Everyone in south Louisiana already knows that crawfish and shrimp prices have gone way up this year per pound; what most people don't know is that the reason for that is shrimp and crawfish have been hard to come by this year; while that has inconvenienced people like me who love a good crawfish boil, this has been devastating to fisherman and shrimpers like Stephen who have to make enough money each season to make it through the winter.

Right now, Steven has to make a very difficult decision: Izzy can receive a surgery for $2000 that will allow her to walk again, or Stephen and his wife will have to amputate Izzy's leg. And with shrimp season being what it is, they're already struggling to pay their bills.

Like most pet owners, Steven and his wife don't have health insurance for their dog; but even if they were to register for insurance now, this injury would be a pre-existing condition not eligible for coverage. I'm a pet owner, too, and I'm asking strangers to help my cousin out with $2100: GoFundMe has to take a cut of every fundraiser, and if possible I'd like to make surgery feasible for Izzy and Steven. Things being what they are, though, they will take every dollar we can spare to go toward Izzy's medical bills and recovery.
