The Lavoie Family Tornado Relief

        
       The Lavoie Family escaped the path of an EF2 Tornado without any physical harm, but have had their lives spun in all other directions.  On Saturday, January 9th, 2016 a tornado touched down in Cape Coral, Florida damaging hundreds of homes and vehicles.  The Lavoie Family may have experienced the worst of the storm.  With no notice their lives were about to completely change.  As the family gathered in the kitchen for dinner the storm grew closer.  Completely unaware that a tornado was headed directly for them..  The father, Jerrick Lavoie, looked out the kitchen slider as the wind and rain picked up.  The power and lights began flashing and a few seconds later the house was left in entire ruins.  The entire house was destroyed, except the room they happened to be standing in.

 

                The family has two young children, ages 3 and 11 years old, whose rooms were completely lost.  The exterior walls of their rooms ripped from the house.  Beds and other furniture still haven’t been located.  Toys, clothing, and other belongings scattered throughout the neighborhood.  The Living Room had the front door literally blown off the hinges, windows removed, and glass, metal, and furniture from nearby houses now located in their living room.  The Master Bedroom window gave out from large pieces of lumber crashing through the window, destroying their bedding and furniture.  Both of the vehicles in the driveway were tattered with debris.  The body’s of the vehicles requiring repair.  The mirrors and taillights of their cars are either missing or badly damaged.



          The family, thankfully, were not injured during the event, but have a long road to repair.  They have been left without their home or worldly belongings.  This fund is designed to help with that aspect of their recovery.  Providing them with the support they will need to rebuild, repair, and refurnish their home and their lives.  Funds will be going directly to the Lavoie family as they become available.  I will also be providing some updates along the way.
