Help Peter beat cancer!

Hi, my name is Tina Kunovski and I am starting this GoFundMe for my youngest brother Peter, his love Kardia and their 6 month old beautiful son Romao to help them through this tough journey ahead.

Peter’s Story:

When Peter was just 6 months old, an abscess had been found.

Over the next 14 years there were countless visits to the doctors to keep this under control including 2 major operations to remove the core without success. Bowels constantly move so the area would continuously get aggravated.

At the age of 14 years old Peter was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. The specialist had advised that this may eventually lead to cancer. Eating habits and lifestyle changes needed to be made. He was put on 4 tablets of Pentasa and 4 tablets of Imuran which needed to be taken daily.

At age 23, Peter was then re-diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.

In Crohn's disease, there are healthy parts of the intestine mixed in between inflamed areas. Ulcerative colitis, on the other hand, is continuous inflammation of the colon.

For the past 7 years, Peter has had to go for monthly infusions to top up his medications which leave him feeling tired and bowels irritated.

2023 October - His son Romao was born. Peter and Kardia’s first born was welcomed and has brought so much joy into their lives and our extended family.

2024 February this year - Peter was diagnosed with a liver disease called PSC (primary sclerosing cholangitis), doctors had some concerns about his Ulcerative colitis which prompted them to book Peter in twice for a colonoscopy to see how everything is travelling.

Mid April he got a call from his specialist with the results after the colonoscopy confirming he has Rectal cancer.

This was devastating news for the entire family!

Within a week, he spoke to the oncologist team. It was decided that chemotherapy was a first option and then surgery to remove the rectum after chemo which would consist of 6 sessions , 1 every two weeks.

Chemotherapy starts in 2 weeks!

Surgery will be scheduled and confirmed - considering all goes well after chemotherapy.

Peter will then need to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of his life meaning he will need to make some adjustments and life will be different to what he knew.

Peter has been battling and trying to maintain a normal life which has been difficult with all the issues he has been dealt.

He is the youngest sibling (28), but definitely the funniest.

This Go Fund Me has been set up to help Peter, Kardia and little Romao with medical bills and their basic needs to make life a little easier during their difficult time. Understandably Peter will be unable to work and care for his gorgeous family.
