Sponsored Bike Ride
Donation protected
I am reaching out in need of help to raise some money for Bristol children's hospital, for a piece of equipment.
My relation Ivy, became very poorly at the beginning of this year and was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease called transverse myelitis, leaving her completely paralysed. She has regained use of her top half and continues to work every day to regain movement from her waist down. From being a healthy 8 year old to now being wheelchair bound, Ivy’s family want to be able to give her and all the other children who are in similar positions the best treatment we can.
Ivy and her family are hoping to fund an Innowalk, it is an amazing machine that keeps bodies moving and healthy, regardless of an individual’s physical abilities. All children should have an hour of physical activity per day, there are so many Children in the BRI that will benefit from this machine now and in the future.
Unfortunately this type of equipment is not cheap at £30,000. I am going to complete a sponsored bike ride to help raise extra funds and am kindly asking anyone who can, to sponsor me, anything you can.
On the 30th June 2024, I will cycle from my home in Bath to the BRI Hospital in Bristol, where Ivy has been since February. The ride is a 30mile round trip which should take 12 year old me several hours to complete.
Please help us reach the target! Ellis
