Tehani Hodge Memorial Fund

In August 2016, my friend Tehani Hodge’s journey with a difficult bone cancer battle began. There were many tests, many hospital and emergency room visits, and a lot of extraordinary pain on Tehani’s part. There were cancerous tumors are on her spine and she had a kyphoplasty to relieve the pain from the spinal compression. Unfortunately, the surgery was unsuccessful and Tehani contracted an antibiotic-resistant bacteria that has caused the cancer to quickly metastasize. Tehani has been in and out of the hospital since August and has found out that she is no longer a candidate for chemotherapy or radiation due to the present bacterial infection.  With this, Tehani is being provided with comfort care through hospice.

Tehani is no longer able to work and her family will need financial assistance to continue covering the rent for their home, various bills and end of life expenses. Our family has been close to the Hodges for 15 years; we have seen each other’s kids grow up, enjoyed many vacations together and we have all been involved in serving at many church events.  Tehani has been an example to me by faithfully serving in her church as a women’s Bible study leader on Wednesdays, has volunteered in several women’s ministry events and has also served many roles on the Guest Services ministry team. Our friendship has blossomed throughout the years and Tehani is dear to me.

Tehani is a single mom raising her 21 year old daughter Brianna who is currently in college. On behalf of Tehani and her daughter, we have started this Go-Fund-Me page in hopes of not only providing relief for their current financial situation, but this would give Tehani peace knowing that all her financial affairs have been taken care of and she can focus on spending her last days with Brianna, family and friends.
