We’re raising money for Ashley and Maelee Neefe to help bury their Jason and offset other expenses. Their story: 2015 was their year...after months of Ashley (and Jason) having the honor of supporting her mother through chemo, radiation and being her caregiver following a mastectomy, 2015 brought the wonderful news that Debbie’s breast cancer was in remission. Ashley and Jason could now relax and eagerly anticipate the long-awaited birth of their daughter. A child they had desperately tried for many, many years to conceive. The month of May brought their miracle baby Maelee, a healthy, beautiful little girl. June gifted Jason as he celebrated the most special Father’s Day ever. Jason’s and Ashley’s Facebook accounts exploded with pictures of their bundle of joy – as their hearts exploded with dreams of Maelee turning over, learning to crawl – and – oh my goodness – her first Christmas. Unfortunately, June also brought a big hiccup when Jason lost his long-term job (along with benefits and insurance). With all the unbridled hope a young couple can have, they made the decision that now was the time for Jason to pursue his dream and start his own computer repair business – a job he was destined for and his passion! Sacrifices would have to be made, things would be tight, but they put their faith in God and Jason’s talents.  Yesterday those dreams abruptly ended. Ashley found Jason collapsed in the kitchen, gasping for air. He could not be revived. Ashley lost the love of her life, Maelee will never know her daddy. Unbelievably, in a heartbeat, Ashley is now a young widow struggling to understand what happened and how to go on. Add to that – they had zero insurance and were barely scraping by in pursuit of their dreams. Now most unexpectedly, somehow, funeral expenses and a cemetery plot are the priority. And then, when the dust settles, Ashley will have to find a job to support her and Maelee. Monday, Nov. 2nd would have been their 13th anniversary. So much heartbreak and heartache. There are many wonderful families that need help – this is definitely one. Please help if you can – no donation is too small.

The picture posted was just 4 days ago (Oct. 25th) – they were honoring breast cancer awareness month in support of “Grammy” (aka: Debbie) at church.
