Saving our homestead

Hi,

I am Lisa Bunting. My Mom Donna Bunting & I have found ourselves in a position to defend our right to reside in the home we have lived in since 1999. We have never missed a mortgage payment, pay for the maintenance & all bills associated with home ownership.

My 31- year old brother Duane passed away from a rare form of cancer in 2011. Duane was kind enough to take a mortgage out for us with the agreement Mom & I pay all expenses including the mortgage. Which we did gladly without fail. It is our home our happy place we were grateful for Duane's kindness. Unfortuntunetly 6 months before my brother died he married a girl he knew very little. For 10 years after his marriage & his passing, we continued with the agreement of paying the mortgage & other expenses of owning the home.

In March 2021 my brother's wife filed a lawsuit against me & my Mom to vacate the house because she was selling it. For almost 2 years Mom & I have been paying all expenses on the home as well as the attorney fees to combat the lawsuit. We are out of funds to continue to do so. We have fought a good fight but can not do it on our own any longer.

Please know any donation toward our cause will be gratefully appreciated. This is our homestead, we are happy here. We have wonderful memories of the time spent with Duane here. My Mom is aged & her health is poor. I have a disability myself and the stress of possibly losing my home is even more debilitating.
