The Mayo Family

Hi my name is Sarah Mayo and I am from Columbus, Ohio. Last year on May 16th, 2022, my 3 daughters and I lost our house we had lived in for 6 years due to mold and basement flooding. The landlord had sold the property and we were told to leave within the next 30 days.

I receive government benefits due to my disability that prevents me from working full time, but it isn't enough to take care of my girls. For the past year we've had to get by from living in hotels/shelter. I currently work and live at a hotel as a housekeeper only getting paid per room, majority of the money paying for the room, making it difficult to pay for toiletries and food. I also don't own a car which makes getting places more difficult, and lately I haven't been able to do as much as I used to due to body pains. Most family members haven't bothered to help for years.

Overall my effort is not enough for my girls. The money raised will go towards clothes, food, transportation, putting money towards a place to live, and to help get us out of this situation. Anything helps. Thank you.
