Jon and Bethann Guay have recently shared exciting news that their son Colton, almost two years old, is going to be a big brother to a little girl. What was supposed to be a time of excitement and celebration came to a halt when Colton suddenly fell ill on Tuesday (9/29/15). On the following day, Wednesday, Colton was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital. Jon and Bethann were told that their son had a really bad virus. They tried to sooth their son that was experiencing a high temperature, watery stools, and vomiting… which had caused him to be dehydrated. Since then Colton has been transferred to Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Med. Colton has a bacterial infection that is causing his body to release a toxin that is attacking his kidneys, which will eventually make his kidneys shut down. Today (October 2, 2015) Colton had to go in for surgery where they have placed a catheter into his upper chest for dialysis, he will be receiving transfusions. His surgery was successful today and they are hoping that his kidneys will be functional again. However, Colton may have some long term complications. This is a very stressful and heart wrenching moment in their lives to see their little boy go through so much. I’ve set up this GoFundMe account to help the Guay family with their son’s medical bills, gas money for Jon and Bethann, and anything else that Colton should need now or in the future. Any amount that is donated is gratefully appreciated from the Guay family. We ask for prayers and positive thoughts for the Guay family. We pray that Colton will have a healthy recovery so that he can return home with his family and to his two favorite shepherd dogs Lady and police dog Bosco. Thank you all for your warm thoughts, prayers, and donations. Please share Colton’s story. Thank you all so much!!!
