Help Katelyn get a Service Dog
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jeana Hubbard. My daughter Katelyn has been a diabetic since she was 2 1/2. When she was diagnosed we almost lost her due to the fact that we had no clue she was diabetic. Most days her diabetes is a silent disease. She can easily become very sick without us even knowing. Typically we manage decently but a lot of highs and lows come during the night. When untreated for more than an hour, it can become very serious. We have discussed the need/want for a service dog that would be trained to alert Katelyn or myself when her blood sugars are dropping or becoming too high. However, the financial cost of the appropriate type of dog and the appropriate training has been more than we could afford. So, as we sit now in the Emergency Room, I have decided it is time to swallow my pride (because I hate asking for any type of help) and ask for help. I have currently found a Golden Retriever for a very reasonable price and then the cost of training is about $2,500. I know it’s Christmas time but I wanted to go ahead and get this started so that she may be able to get a service dog soon. Thank you all for anything you can give to help.
