Irene's Cancer Treatment Fund
Spende geschützt
As many of you know in August of 2013 my mom, Irene (Alexander) Foulds was diagnosed with stage IIA breast cancer. She underwent surgery for bilateral mastectomy followed by several reconstructive surgeries. After surgery she found out that the cancer had metastasized to her lymphnodes. She was given the recommendation of treatment of chemotherapy, radiation and tamoxifen. My mom researched non-traditional cancer treatments. We discussed these options as a family and decided what the best route for her. She followed the protocol perfectly and has had excellent test results and follow-up appointments with her oncologist.
As a result of the removal of her lymphnodes, and lifetime weight restrictions given by her surgeon she is limited. Even with physical and occupational therapy, Irene has lost partial use and range of motion of her left arm. She has since been unable to return to work as an esthetician and nail technician.
The protocol she completed for her cancer treatment required her to eat a very strict diet which resulted in severe kidney stones. She tried to rid herself of the painful stones naturally and to avoid another surgery, but ultimately had to have another surgery. The largest stone was embedded in the wall of her ureter, causing a tear that lead to several additional post surgical complications.
Recently, she went for follow up blood work to test her enzyme levels. There was a 6-8 week waiting period for the results for this specialized test, during which time we were all hopeful after everything she has been through these past few years that the results would come back in the normal range. She received the results on February 26, and we were all saddened at the elevated results, which means the cancer is active again.
Shortly after the blood work above was sent out, she proactively began Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI) treatments. As always, my mom does in depth research and she ended up meeting the man who invented the machines and services them for hospitals and treatment centers all over the world. She has since received six successful treatments.
Having to go through all of this has been extremely trying for my mom and her husband Tom. Our country’s healthcare system and insurance industry simply does not support individuals who are interested in seeking alternative medicine. The UBI treatments and the supplements that she needs to take during this time, in addition to the travel have become very taxing.
My sister and I have seen so many people go through chemotherapy and we’re so glad we didn’t have to watch our mom suffer through those side effects. We were so relieved at her one year checkup results and I know we will be just as satisfied with the results of her blood work retest after the full series of UBIs are complete.
We are so thankful for this opportunity to reach out to our friends, family and community to help our mom! Thank you all so much!!
