Pitbull Attack - medical expenses

Donation protected

On March 3rd of this year, my 24yr old daughter, Emysha was viciously attacked by a stray pit bull, therefore, we had no owners to hold accountable for all her pain and suffering. There are no words to describe how this one night has emotionally, finically, and physically, changed the course of her life. In 2023, Emysha graduated from Harisscowe State University. Unlike most college students, Emysha worked countless hours at her job, graduated top of her class, and still took time (and money out of her own pocket) to follow her hearts passion to serve a community of people in the downtown St. Louis area who had no shelter or basic day to day necessities (that we so often take for granted). Emysha did all this while pursuing an education degree which would long-term allow her to plant good seeds in our youth, and also financially support her future endeavors. In all this, she very rarely asked for help along the way. After graduation and getting through the pilot phase of her non for profit, she’d planned to move out of state in April of 2024 to begin her teaching career.

Due to multiple injuries, blood clots, an emergency surgery to her leg, and having to remain on a wound vac all her plans have been drastically altered and after almost 3 months she has not been able to return to work. As a mother, it has been heart breaking to watch her work so hard to better herself, and the lives of those in her community, to now live a life where she has no choice but depend on her family and community for help. Her savings has been depleted, her plans to move and start her new job cancelled, and her father and I have had to talk her into moving home.

Although we will never be able to alleviate all of her pain, suffering and grief, our family is humbly reaching out to the community for help to lift some of the financial burden to get her back on her feet. As per her mission statement, we can’t change the world alone, we have to believe that one person plants, the others water, and as a community we grow because we are STRONGER TOGETHER!
