Thomas Gregg's Access Ramp
Donation protected
Allow me to introduce you to Thomas Gregg, a very proud veteran of the United States Navy. While on active duty he suffered some back injuries, and as a result he is bound to a wheelchair today, with very limited mobility. He and his wife and children recently bought thier first home, and during that process they were selected by another organization to recieve donated upgrades to the house to make it acccessible for him. However, during the closing process the donation fell through, and he now lives in a house that he cannot easily access. He has an electric powered chair that he cannot get into his house because he does not have an access ramp installed. He has a temporary 8 foot ramp, but it is so steep that the chair would roll over backwards were he try to use it. He currently has to get out of his electric chair, swollow his pride, and shimmy up the ramp to get into a standard wheelchair in order to get into and around his house. He has recieved quotes to get a ramp installed that would cost roughly $6000. He has applied for the HISA grant through the VA, but it could take up to 2 years for it to be approved. Please help us raise the money he needs to get a ramp installed, and help restore his dignity in his own home.
