Lex’s Surgery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Bellah and I’m proud to be Lex’s (Alexa’s) owner! She recently had a medical emergency and according to the vet she will need surgery to fix a disc in her spine. She currently cannot walk and since she is a big girl (78 lbs) it’s hard for my mom and I to carefully lift her. My mom is a struggling single mother and we do not have the funds for the surgery. We love Lex with our whole heart and would do anything to avoid having to put her down. She is the biggest and most loving baby. We adopted her in 2018 and ever since then she has become the best part of our family. Although she is not trained to be an emotional support animal she has helped me work through panic attacks and even comfort me when I was battling depression in 2020 due to the loss of a very close friend of mine. I’m currently a senior in high school and refuse to let Lex go down without a fight. Any amount helps and we will appreciate every cent donated. Thank you all for being so kind and sweet, it truly warms my heart and brought tears to my eyes to see the kindness of strangers ❤️
8-9-23 UPDATE
We are waiting to see how much the MRI/CT will cost as well (my mom is on the phone as we speak) I raised the goal up to 10,000 just to ensure we will have all the funds needed to properly take care of our fur baby! I truly am so grateful and appreciative of the pure kindness I’ve gotten from total strangers. If there is any left over money it will be donated to a local charity to help other animals with their needs as well!!! Again, thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart. The internet and human compassion is a beautiful thing ❤️
8-9-23 (9:07 PM) UPDATE!!!
Lex is staying the night at the animal hospital and will either go into surgery tomorrow or the day after depending on if her condition stays the same or worsens. I raised the goal to $15,000 because after getting the correct and final estimate from the SPECIALIST, it will cost us around $13,000 plus the rehabilitation cost! This is a spinal surgery so rehab will be needed just like it would if a human were to have this injury. Thank you to all the kind souls standing by me during this. It’s been a very rough few days seeing my baby in so much pain but she is getting the help she needs. THANK YOU. it wouldn’t be possible without you all ❤️
8/10/23 UPDATE
Lex will be going into surgery in roughly 30 minutes to an hour!! TNANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. The vet will call us once she is out of surgery !!
