Support Cory's Journey to Recovery

Cory was admitted into the cardiac ICU and was told his kidneys were failing and his heart function was down to 10% (very low). We were told very quickly they were inserting a heart pump to give his heart rest, and take the work off of his heart while allowing his heart and kidneys time to heal.

After a week, they felt it was time to take the heart pump out. After the second procedure, he suffered 8-9 mini-strokes, and they found a blood clot in the brain. He was transferred from Mercy Hospital to UC Hospital and later was admitted into the Neuro ICU, where he spent the next week and a half being monitored before he was sent home. He will continue on blood thinners in hopes that eventually his body will absorb the blood clot. The clot is in a critical part of the brain, so it will always be a concern.

After the strokes occurred, he was left with blurry and double vision. Prior to all this, he was diagnosed with heart failure about 5 years ago and has been living with a pacemaker and defibrillator. Cory is a two-time childhood cancer survivor and has had a total hip replacement. Later, he had a crush injury to his foot/ankle at work that left him with a fused foot. He is only 35 years old and has endured so much.

We are hoping to raise money to help with medical bills and ease the financial burden these hardships bring.
