Chubz Medical Fund

Donation protected
This is Chubz. He as a 3 year old English Bulldog who unfortunately has a long list of medical issues. The day before his 2nd birthday he began having seizures. The seizures continued throughout the day and Chubz was eventually hospitalized and diagnosed with Epilepsy. He was staying seizure free for a few months but then the seizures started happening more frequently and were more severe. He was hospitalized 3 more times within a few months- each time adding a new medication. The doctors finally figured out the right combination of medication and Chubz has been seizure free for 7 weeks! Unfortunately his story does not end there. About 5 weeks ago Chubz started vomiting, refused to eat, began losing weight, and was tired all the time. He was brought to the vet and after blood work, testing and a 2 night hospital stay with a feeding tube we were told he has either Inflammatory Bowel Disease or GI Cancer. The only way to rule out Cancer is to do a biopsy which Chubz is just not strong enough to handle right now. It was decided to start Chubz on a steroid and a prescription diet which would help either way. 2 weeks went by and Chubz started vomiting even more, this time with blood, he was refusing food again, sleeping all the time, and developed a cough. Back to the ER he went, finding out Chubz had even more complications. We learned because of him vomiting so much he aspirated and developed severe pneumonia. He had to be on oxygen for 2 days to get his breathing on track. Chubz was also diagnosed with Mega Esophagus and a Hiatal Hernia. He left the hospital with 4 new medications and a packet of instructions and information about his diseases. Chubz now takes 10 pills 2x a day and requires frequent blood work and X-rays to ensure he is staying healthy. He also requires a special dog high chair so he can be sitting up right while eating and drinking to help the food digest. Any donations will be given to the Decosta family to help pay off the hospital bills, pay for medications and the prescription food. Chubz does not deserve any of these problems and he will be living the rest of his life fighting these diseases. He has spent about 10 nights in the Hospital in just over a year. Please send a prayer that Chubz will soon start to feel better and that he can overcome all of these complications. Any donation or share is greatly appreciated.
