Connor's Medical Bills

Hey Everyone! We are the Johnson Family. We lived most of our lives in Bartow, Florida and that is where our brother, Connor, still lives.

In mid-August, our brother Connor was in a nearly fatal car accident. His car was completely totaled. The accident put him in a coma for approx two months with severe brain bleeding and a head injury that left us unsure WHO Connor would be when her woke up, and a laundry list of other injuries. Connor was in a coma for 2 months in a major trauma unit at the hospital in Lakeland, FL.

Once he started to slowly wake up, they moved him to a different rehabilitation hospital in Land O' Lakes. As you can imagine, this drive daily was hard on our family, as we live all over Florida now in Clearwater, Riverview and Fort Lauderdale.

Thankfully after a few weeks in this hospital, Connor was accepted into a neuro rehab hospital in Northern Florida. This hospital was an answer to our prayers because they specialize in cases like his. And while our brother is awake, he still has a long road of recovery ahead as he fights every day to find himself again. He still suffers from short term memory and emotional trauma and physcial episodes that leave us all desperate for his healthy recovery.

As you can imagine, this has been a tumultuous time for our family as we travel around the state, back and forth to ensure he has the highest care possible and the best chance at returning to his new normal.

And while Connor is exactly where he needs to be, the costs of his care continue to sky rocket. This week, we learned after his stay at the hospital is complete, they want him to stay for an adt six weeks for outpatient rehab. A rehab that is not covered under insurance. Between the rising lodging costs for our father, Chad, and the costs of the rehab, we are starting a GOFUNDME to help our father and brother through this terrible situation. We never thought we would be in this position but our own funds are dwindling as we travel back and forth constantly and do all we can to help. The money raised would help with the costs of lodging and assist with the charges not covered under insurance.

We are SO thankful for everyone who has helped us through this journey and while it's far from over, we are blessed to know Connor and all of us have such an amazing and caring community of support. Thank you everyone ❤️
