Hayden Obermann stay strong

Hi, my name is Cathy, and I am raising money for my grandson, Hayden, who was airlifted from Essentia in Duluth to Children's in Minneapolis. Hayden has been ill since Thanksgiving and has become increasingly worse, so he was taken via ambulance to Essentia Hospital in Duluth.
Hayden had an infection in his brain stemming from either Strep A or sinusitis that got under the brain's lining on his left temple area and between the two hemispheres' crack. Your sinuses are close to the brain, that frequently, the infection moves into the brain.
The surgeon removed as much of the bacteria as he could, so they got rid of most of it. The section of the brain they removed was not attached as they anticipated swelling. Next, they checked to see if the bone fragment from his head was also infected. They cannot sterilize it like they do medical equipment, or it will dry out. So, if the bone is infected, they will make a titanium implant and put that in. This process doesn't occur for a while.
The doctor hopes to have his bone, or the implant, reattached by the time Hayden leaves to come home. Hayden had a CT scan of his brain, the blood vessels in his brain, and his sinuses. They confirmed that Hayden's sinus on his left side (where the infection primarily resides on his brain) was full of fluid. So Hayden had another surgery to drain his sinuses and is having an EEG now. Hayden will have a long road of recovery as an outpatient at Gillette Hospital.
His parents, family, and friends thank you for your continued prayerfulness and financial support during this difficult time.
