Marshalls Eyesight Surgery
Donation protected
We don’t know where Marshall originally came from. All we know is that he was abandoned at Playa Lucia in Yabacoa, Puerto Rico. Because of the thousands of animals that are abandoned there each year, this beach is known to the locals as “Dead Dog Beach.” It was from this inhospitable place that he was rescued, and taken to an adoption fair. It was love at first sight! For the last 4 years, Marshall has lived with Paul and Mandy, along with their two boys. He has been a happy, gentle, sweet, little dog, and is absolutely adored.
Unfortunately, we need to ask for your help to rescue Marshall a second time.
The day after Thanksgiving, Marshall woke up with cloudy eyes and shaking his head. After a visit to his veterinarian, Marshall was diagnosed with Inherited Juvenile Cataracts. He is going blind, and it is happening very quickly. He needs surgery to remove the cataracts. Otherwise, he’ll go blind, likely within six months, and need daily eye care for the rest of his life. Other, even scarier ailments, being a high likelihood down the road if left untreated.
We would schedule the surgery for Marshall today, however, a medical bill of this size is a big burden for a farm manager at a local park and a substitute teacher who cannot teach because of the pandemic. As much as we like to think of ourselves as the people who rescued Marshall, it seems that the tables have turned. Now we are asking you for help, so that we can get Marshall the medical care that he needs.
Marshall is a truly loveable pup and his story has sparked an outpouring of love and touched many hearts. We appreciate your support more than you could ever know, and wish you and your fur babies a happy and healthy new year.
