Multiple Myeloma Stem Cell Transplant

Hi everyone. My name is Chrina and I am Gina DeValera’s daughter. She recently has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. MM is a form of cancer within the plasma cells. This has been very hard on not only her mentally and physically, but for close friends and family as well. 

As most of you know, my mother is a very strong person and has worked hard her whole life. She had just started working towards her dreams of owning her own business when she opened up “Gina’s” her food trailer. Unfortunately she has had to close her business because of this recent diagnosis as it has been very taxing.

Chemotherapy treatments are 2 weeks in a row, twice a week, with one week off. She drives from Eureka, NV to Twin Falls, ID to get treatments at St. Luke’s. 

As she gets further into treatment, she is being advised by her medical team to get a Stem Cell Transplant. This procedure plays a very important role in keeping multiple myeloma controlled, as there is no cure. Unfortunately, insurance is not covering a lot of her medical procedures and will not cover this. And we all know how costly medical bills can be.
