Eviction Assistance

Donation protected
CRISIS UPDATE We have applied to a townhome that would put us in a much more manageable situation, we just have to come up with a down payment before our eviction date at our current place. That gives us a week to raise the money, finish packing and move. We worked out an agreement to have no money owed to the current company if we can just get out by January 4th. I’ve been applying for loans and grants, like making a full time job out of it, and I will continue to do so, we just need all the help we can get in the meantime/in case none of these resources can work out in time. Thank you for all the resources and advice, I’ve been able to look into most of them so far, the holiday hours and time constraints have been my biggest hurdle with those. I’m pretty sure we have moving and packing covered, unless anyone has any mover services/resources. We’ll have a uhaul, just need help with furniture and appliance moving. On a different, but related note my Etsy store remains suspended until I can fulfill the refunds of orders that I have not been able to complete.

****^UPDATE****
Okay, so we have found a permanent solution, but we need to raise this full amount now by the end of the year. We have put a holding fee down on a low income townhouse, and need to come up with a down payment of $7,000. We will own the townhome and have a much smaller mortgage payment instead of steep rent. Allowing us to finally thrive and get our independence and dignity back. I am learning how to focus more on gratitude in these terrifying circumstances, and I feel very optimistic about the near future if we can just get over this bump. We’re almost there.

This is one of our last places to turn, our family (me, my partner and younger sister) has been given until December 1st (2023) to pay our full balance without facing an eviction trial.

I have been diligently seeking all possible resources with rental assistance and have been denied by all that I have received response from so far.  I’ve already been sent to court once and got a continuance.  I was told by the judge that most cases can be solved and dismissed by the landlord and tenant coming to an arrangement. Seeing as we have very special circumstances, I was very hopeful I could negotiate with the rental company.

I talked up the chain of command, to be left with no other options, grace or arrangements.  We never intended to cover the cost of this place on our own, we moved into it with my late grandmother and split the cost with her. Since she passed in May, having no savings from living paycheck to paycheck, we were stuck in a rental that costs twice what we can afford.  If this weren’t enough of a challenge, our lease ended and needed renewal at the time of her death. She and I being the only leaseholders, the renewal could not legally be signed.  I was in immediate contact with our property management company to figure out how to remove her from the lease so that we could proceed with this renewal.  I was told I’d have to pay month-month rent (an extra $500/mo)until we could provide her death certificate.
Even after providing the certificate, that took longer than anticipated to acquire, the company would not write up a new lease until September. That was 4 months we were forced to pay and extra 500/mo, totaling an extra $2k.  Thanks to death benefits and some external help, we managed to get current with the rent by the end of August.

Since my major work season has ended,
I’ve taken on 2 extra jobs while maintaining my existing business, my sister was able to receive disability and food assistance, while my partner continues to work full time.

Our city has no funding left for assistance , and we either hit the income cap for assistance, our city is not eligible for the county’s resources, or our balance is too high to be approved.

I have done everything in my power to keep us afloat and it still isn’t enough and I’ve been putting off
