Grape Short Film

Hello my name is Aurora Iler and I am 12 Years old. If you have been following along with my journey you would know that last year I created, wrote and directed Melon Head Short Film. I did that film with Team Melon Head to try and bring awareness to helmet safety.

I have now written another Short Film, called "Grape". This will be another Youth led campaign, that is made with the assistance of Professional film makers.

LOGLINE: Layla's search for acceptance leads her to dangerous choices that have a ripple effect on her younger sister.

SYNOPSIS: Layla, a 14 year old girl, yearns to be seen as more mature, less like a child. Her desire for acceptance leads her to make a series of poor choices that impact her relationships, schoolwork, and family life. Layla's choices ultimately lead to a tragic life altering event that forces her to examine the choices she has been making.

'Grape' uses the story of Layla and her siblings to highlight the impacts that poor decisions caused by addiction have on people, teens specifically.

Through Layla's journey, we explore the complex choices that come with

addiction, and how quickly they can spiral out of control. Our film doesn’t preach about the dangers of vaping and nicotine, but instead shows the real life consequences of these choices. We aim to start a conversation about the pressures young people face and how we can support them in making safer choices.

Grape Short Film Team has its first Supporter with The Queensland Family & Child Commission. The QFCC Is supporting me in my goal to make a vaping short film that can be used on social media and in schools to highlight where addiction can take us.

I am asking for your help to make this film as good as possible.

All Crew and Speaking Cast will be paid a small fee for their time on this production.

Your support can assist with getting school uniforms for each of the students, making fake vapes, arranging a screening night once the film is made and with the all important Screenings at Film Festivals.
