Please Help Me Pay My Rent... I am Soon to be Evicted Due to Unfortunate Financial Circumstances!
It has been really difficult this past year (as we all have experienced in some way or another) and during this pandemic in general....
I have gotten myself into an unfortunate situation, where I am unable to afford the cost of my rent, bills, food, transportation, etc. I have accrued quite the rent debt bill, and am now about to be evicted (says by April 29th...) I had already been in this position months ago, during 2021- and resolved it through an online hearing, with an agreement to pay my rent plus extra, so I could catch up eventually...
I kept up with it for a few months in a row, and then another lockdown hit, which was also then extended... Every time I took one step forward to getting on track and making progress with my financial situation, I was then pushed 2 steps back; every time.
I graduated school at the beginning of the pandemic; this left me with school/credit debts from my 3 years in college, expensive rent I now pay on my own . I am self-employed, and have been since finishing school. I work as a Personal Trainer and Strength Coach one-on-one with clients in my community, as well as running my own online fitness/nutrition business from home.
I have applied for the Canada Emergency Response Benefits (& CRB/CWB) for periods of unstable income due to lockdowns/Covid sicknesses directly impacting my primary source of income (gyms shutting down every previous lockdown, as well as when clients/members of the gym got sick). It has been a waiting game, as the CRA is still needing to review and confirm my application documents that I needed to submit due to the nature of my job (to confirm I met the income requirements to receive the funding assistance).
It has been an exhausting cycle of what feels like never-ending doom. I REALLY do not like to ask for direct financial help, but with the situation I am in- I feel I have nowhere else to turn. I have a cat and a dog to look after, and a large worry is what vet bills might suddenly pop up (as have in the past few years- also leaving me with quite a financial burden).
It is so stressful for me to not be able to pay my regular bills on time, not being able to comfortably live or pay for my/my pet's food, wonder when I will have stable income due to the terrible nature and happenings of the pandemic, wonder when I will be EVER be able to possibly get ahead, etc. (the list goes on)...
I don't have much else to say other than it is difficult to be in this position with my back against the wall and feel that I need to reach out and ask for help, but honestly- EVERY little bit would help right now.
