My name is Chris Knapp. I was born in Vietnam in 1967 and was fortunate to be adopted by the Knapps in 1974.
I grew up in upstate New York and attended grammar school and high school in Sidney, NY.
I moved to Hampton, VA for a year after graduation high school in 1986. In 1988, I relocated to Fort Lauderdale, where I have lived, worked and been active in the LGBT community ever since.
I am lucky to be a part of the Village Pub family on Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors since they opened their doors in 2012.
In September, 2015, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer. The news has been devastating. My treatment will include radiation and chemotherapy. I am lucky to have a great group of friends who continue to support me. But the treatments are very costly, as will be my recuperation.
Thank you for your support and I look forward to beating cancer and seeing you all back on the Drive very soon.
