Hi, our names are Peter McMullan and Kealan Friel. We have decided to complete an endurance challenge to raise money for the Cancer Fund for Children as it is a charity we hold very close to our hearts.

The sad reality is that every week in Northern Ireland another three children and young people aged 0-24 years old will be diagnosed with cancer. As Northern Ireland’s leading children’s cancer charity, Cancer Fund for Children understands the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and its treatment has on the whole family, and that beyond the essential medical care, there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt.

From the point of diagnosis, their team of Cancer Support Specialists is here to help, guide and support families at home, in their community, and at their therapeutic short break and residential centres. Their support is focused not just on the young person, but on the whole family. The aim is to empower, connect and strengthen them, so they feel equipped to deal with whatever the future may hold.

Cancer Fund for Children is also here to help bereaved families cope with the emotional pain of losing a child to cancer. They also support children and young people whose parent has been diagnosed with cancer through their Young Shoulders Programme.

On the 4th of March 2022, we will be completing the 4x4x48 challenge, created by retired Navy Seal David Goggins. This challenge involves running 4miles every 4hours for 48 hours straight (almost two marathons)! We will be completing the challenge in Dublin, and aim to raise £1000 for the Cancer Fund for Children.
