4x4x48 Challenge for Special Olympics of Illinois

Tax deductible
Starting on March 4th at 10pm, I will be participating in my 2nd Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge raising money for the Special Olympics Illinois and I am asking for your support! The Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge is walk/run 4 miles every 4th hour for 48 hours straight which will end with the 12th round at 6pm on Sunday, March 6th.

If you don’t know this name, learn it: David Goggins. He’s one of the toughest SOB’s on the planet. Two years around this time I was introduced to David Goggins. He was sharing the most unbelievable story about his life which is told in his book “Can’t Hurt Me”. He was 300 pounds and lost it to become a Navy Seal. That was a sliver of what it’s about. To sum up the book, it’s about looking your demon in the eye; that demon is your inner voice saying you can’t or shouldn’t do something because it’s hard. I listened to the book first (since I was in the car everyday), then I read the book too. I have listened to it a few times after as well. I credit David Goggins story from his book and the numerous podcasts he was on to my eyes opening. Many of you have known I’ve always been a big guy. June of 2020 during the peak of Covid I ballooned up to about 415 pounds. Around the time I heard Goggins, I was just shy of 400. I opened my eyes and looked at that inner demon and told it “you’re going to be my bitch”. I remember 2 years ago watching one of Goggins posts about his 4x4x48 he was doing, and thought this guy is insane. Fast forward TWO years, I am ready to do it again. Last year I did it with modifications with supplemental exercises and only completed 36 miles. This year, I am completing the full 48 mile challenge! I can do that, and I will do that.

I am doing this challenge for the toughest and most determined athletes on the planet, the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois and I ask for your support! I set a personal goal of raising $7,000, double of what I raised in 2021. GoFundMe has a direct link will go directly to the Special Olympic Illinois for all online donations.

Thank you all for your support!

STAY HARD!
