Running for Renee
Donation protected
When your lifelong friend tells you that his wife, who was his high school sweetheart, has breast cancer you feel the full gambit of emotions. At first, you are stunned and figure there must be a mistake. Then, you feel angry because how could this happen to a person like Renee? She is a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother of two young daughters and is nicest person you will ever meet. Finally, you feel that empty feeling of helplessness. I felt especially bad because I cannot even be there for Renee and John because I live so far away.
Then I got this idea. Despite my lack of a runner’s physique, I plan to run the Pittsburgh Marathon on May 1st of this year to help raise money and show support for DeMarino Family during this difficult time. If Renee can battle cancer, I can battle the hills of Pittsburgh. My cause is “Running for Renee.”
It is a sad fact, but we all probably have a friend, family member or co-worker who has been affected by Cancer. I personally lost my father to cancer eight years ago. If you have gone through this battle with a loved one, you know how much your support means to them. I hope you decide to fund me and support a good cause for a great family. Your donation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
