On the 29th of july this year after so many ups and downs and false alarms with dads health his body finally gave up and decided he had no more fight left in him, he passed away comfortable and peacefully with his family by his side, as sad as this is and difficukt it has been none of it would have been possible without the help from the hospice.

Not only did they make dad comfortable but they also cared for my mum and my family whilst he was there, they also gave support before he went to the hospice and are still giving the family support now 5 weeks later.

My initial view of a hospice was its just somewhere you go to die but now knowing and seeing what they offer, how they help and the support provided my view has totally changed.

St Catherine’s Hospice provides expert end of life care and support to terminally ill people and their families across West Sussex and East Surrey.  St Catherine’s cares for around 2,000 people every year living with a terminal illness, in its hospice in Crawley, in people’s own homes and in care homes. Eight in ten people cared for by St Catherine’s are supported in the comfort of their own home.

Given our so very recent loss i'd like to give something back to them but i cannot do it on my own,

I dont like heights, this is something well out of my comfort zone but in memory of my dad and in honour of st catherine's i will be gliding down a rope from 278 feet up from the spinnaker tower in portsmouth on sunday the 10th september 2023to raise money for this cause,

I ask anyone that has a heart, has had support or dealings with st catherines and any1 else to help me raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship in 3 days at short notice.
