Robin’s road to recovery

Aloha Friends and Family of Robin Sagon!

On Friday September 8, 2023, our mom fainted while out at dinner with family. After a few seconds of unconsciousness, and a sternum rub she woke to paramedics assessing her. She was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency room for additional testing, imaging, and assessment. It was there they incidentally found a 1.8 cm mass located on her right Kidney, which is consistent with Renal Cell Carcinoma. She was discharged and awaiting out treatment for RCC.

While awaiting treatment on October 9,2023 at 9am our mom went into Cardiac arrest. Her Partner who found her started CPR while calling 911 and continued until EMT arrived, upon arrival they continued compressions and had to shock her 3 times to bring her back to us. She went into Maui Memorial Medical Center ER once again and was transferred to ICU where she stayed intubated for a few days, then a couple days in PCU, then a few days on the 5th floor.

Dr.’s have been wanting to do an angiogram procedure to determine what caused her to go into cardiac arrest. However, with her renal function on a constant wave they are unable to perform the procedure until her Kidney function is consistently better.

she will be fitted for a AED vest for the time being until the procedure can be done which will be taken on Oahu, and will also need a defibrillator.

With that being said,Mom will be out of work until further notice. We are asking for assistance with monetary donations to be utilized towards her medical cost and bills that will need to tend too while out of work.
