Hi, my name is Schelli Hardesty I am a family friend of Pat and Steph Evans. Pat and Steph have 4 children. Ryan is 24, Bryce 18, Peyton 16 and Jenna 12.
Bryce Evans a senior at Brooking High School was diagnosed with a Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor on her left femur 11/10/15.
Bryce was gettting ready for the girls basketball season at BHS when she noticed some pain in her left knee, To make a long story short after multiple Xrays, CT's, MRI's, and bone scan, a biopsy was done and our worst fears came true. Bryce has cancer! Not only does she have cancer but she has a VERY rare form of cancer with no clear path for treatment.
The 1st step of treatment was started this last Monday 11/23/15. Bryce underwent a Total Knee Replacement at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. They removed 4 inches of her left femur and put a new knee in! She is now a bionic woman :). Next week Bryce will meet with Dr. Sam (her oncologist) to discuss further treatment plans.
Bryce's BB team gave her an encouragement board before she had surgery and on it is a great verse. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong, be fearless. Dont be afraid and dont be scared by your enemies, because the Lord your God is the only one who marches with you. He won't let you down, and he wont abandon you.
When someone tells you your child has cancer it turns your whole world upside down. My goal is to try and relieve some of the financial burden that goes along with all of this. My hope is that we can meet the goal and more! Thanks for taking the time to read this and keep them in your prayers!
