Dearest Family and Friends:
My name is Charisse Gamboa, and I am Bellamy Gamboa's younger sister. As an immediate family member, I will also be the organizer assisting my Father, Emmanuel Jocson Gamboa, with Justice4Bellamy.
For all who have been following my sister’s story, we appreciate your love and support and know you’re right there with us to fight.
With unforeseen costs, we are humble in asking for help with the next chapter.
Appointed organizer, Sheila Smith, has agreed to close the Bring Bellamy Home campaign, as we have reached our goal (and could NOT have accomplished such without any of Bellamy’s supporters).
BBH was created and discussed by my cousin, Dennis Linner, and I on 7/6/18, assigning Sheila to organize the page itself. With having access to upload photos, add recent updates, edit the story, and revise the goal amount when needed.
Starting J4B is an ideal decision, as friends, family, and Bellamy’s supporters have encouraged my Father and I to start a fresh, new campaign. Only the immediate family can truly speak on such a tragic experience, and we appreciate all who understands us.
(Please note: funds will still be disbursed into a shared account).
*I also have a team of members (closest to our family and Bellamy) on our side, ranging from the Westcoast to the East, who I consult with on a daily* Including, Catherine Abejar, who holds a BS degree in Paralegal Studies and who is determined to help her childhood Far East fam.
(For the BBH campaign), the initial intention was to find Bellamy and bring her home to her 4 children. With the funds raised, we were able to help the search volunteers, provide supplies, give my sister a beautiful and peaceful memorial, obtain a retainer fee for the domestic juvenile attorney, cover costs for the twins’ supplemental expenses, the two teens’ school supplies, temporary coverage for eyecare for Cianna, travel for immediate family, reimbursment to the UPS store owned by the Gatbonton family (who has worked tremendously) with creating maps, flyers, programs, as well as any other general expenses needed to relieve any financial burden for the Gamboa family.
In addition, my Father has a scheduled appointment to meet with a 529 plan financial advisor on 9/10, and look forward to applying the rest of the proceeds towards each child’s education.
On 7/1/18, my beautiful sister, a loving Mother of 4, was violently taken away from her children.
Sadly, our efforts in searching for my sister was short lived due to VB law enforcement ending their investigation on August 2, 2018.
Our next focus is J4B, which will introduce many details in fighting HER fight and being her voice. Her story stands out, with the unexpected outcome and shock from her murderer after her “disappearance”.
A 4Bellamy campaign is in the works with state delegates being aware of her story, as well as nationwide broadcast companies reaching out to help win her fight. ***Proceeds will also assist in promoting and marketing 4B and J4B.***
Most importantly, we need laws or policies to be adjusted or modified in order to save lives, protect families, and educate the community about domestic violence.
There are many unfortunate events that could have been prevented for Bellamy to feel safe in her own environment and while being with her own children. The negligence of the city of VB is now being reviewed.
On another note, prosecutors and detectives have discussed a possible criminal trial hearing that may be held outside of the VB jurisdiction. With that being said, family/witnesses may have to travel afar to testify. At this point, it is uncertain where Bellamy’s story will take us, until we give her what she deserves.
A custody hearing is also scheduled for 2/4/19, and the judge will rule a final decision for the twins.
Currently, the Johnson family has full, physical custody, while the Gamboa family has visition for 9 full days per month. Bellamy’s wishes were for her twin babies to be safe and away from harm and/or dangerous situations. A permanent loving, safe, and positive environment is what we strive for, and for Ellis and Lei to KNOW WHO THEIR MOTHER IS/WAS.
My family has suffered enough, and we continue to face even more pain. Although we try to stay positive, some results have been disappointing and unfortunately tough to accept.
Please join me in believing the good in people, as we continue to pray to God to seek justice for my beautiful sister who did NOT deserve to be taken away from her children.
