50 Hour Marathon with Southside Community Center!

VIC Radio is partnering with Southside Community Center for the 35th Annual 50 Hour Marathon.  In Spring of 2022, 4 DJs will stay awake and stay on the air for 50 hours straight to raise money for Southside Community Center!

 

Since its incorporation in 1934, the Southside Community Center, Inc., continues to affirm, empower, and foster the development of self-pride among the African-American citizens of greater Ithaca. Through forums and activities in education, recreation, political and social awareness, the Southside Community Center is a community resource center, whose focus is empowering and educating the BIPOC community, while tackling social justice issues. Southside serves as a vehicle to develop an appreciation for the contributions and presence of those peoples of African descent in the greater Ithaca community and in the larger world community.

 

Your donation will go towards Southside Community Center's after-school programming for children in order to help them have as many educational games, toys, and books as possible. In the words of Executive Director Chavon Bunch, "their success begins with us."

If you donate $25, you will be sponsoring a half-hour and receive two on-air acknowledgments during the Marathon. If you donate $40, that is a full-hour sponsorship with four on-air acknowledgments in addition to a mention on our website.

Featuring the "Best of What's Next" with indie-alternative tracks, VIC also airs specialty shows of all genres including electronic, folk, country, pop, grunge music, and more!
