Michael's Moving Forward Campaign!
Donation protected
Dear friends,
I'm turning 50 and I would like to begin moving forward in two BIG ways!
First, I would like to obtain my U.S. citizenship.
Second, I would like to begin forging a new career as a chaplain.
I'm very excited . . . but both will require some financial outlay which I currently simply don't have.
As most of you reading this will know, for the past three years I'm had a part-time job with Meals-on-Wheels and before that served (for a very modest stipend) as the executive coordinator of the Catholic Pastoral Committee on Sexual Minorities (CPCSM)/Catholics for Marriage Equality MN. I've also expended a lot of time and energy on various online projects, including The Wild Reed, which though personally rewarding and beneficial to many, have never been about making money.
In short I've been living for quite some time "off the grid" and "on the edge" in many ways – including financially.
However, now that I'm turning 50, I realize I need a more financially secure vocation/career path. Hence my decision to go into chaplaincy . . . and obtain U.S. citizenship so that I can come and go from the U.S. and Australia (in large part to stay better connected to my aging parents) without having to worry about the various limitations of my current green card status.
If you would like to help me in this "moving forward" as a way of celebrating my 50th birthday, then a contribution of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
Prayers, good energy and loving thoughts are also welcome and will, of course, be equally appreciated!
