Tyler Burdick's 2014 Paralympic Bid
Donation protected
After a road side bomb (IED) was detonated by the enemy beneath my vehicle while assigned to 3rd Battalion 6th Marines in Helmand Afghanistan as a Hospital Corpsman (combat medic), I nearly lost my legs below the knee. After three years of limb salvage and the help of a newly developed set of braces, I have achieved excellence in my sport, Boardercross. On a snowboard we race down a course littered with obstacles, banked turns and jumps. In January, I was nominated to the inaugural US National Para-Snowboard Team and am currently training and competing for a spot on the US Paralympic Team that will represent our country, the USA, in the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia. Please help me achieve this dream! I cannot do it without your help. My injuries and commitment to training and competing make it overwhelmingly difficult to hold a regular job; the cost of this endeavor is significant. No donation is too small and all funds will be used to further myself in this discipline. Thank You!
