Paying tribute to Sarah; now a Guardian Angel
Donation protected
On November 13, 2021 our world lost an amazing, kind-hearted soul. Sarah (Mitchell) Brockway (42) succumbed to long-term complications of Covid-19. Since March of 2020, Sarah has had lingering effects of Covid-19, with her system never fully healing. This past week she suddenly developed pneumonia. As any typical mom would, she thought her body could fight through it. She laid down for a rest in the afternoon, with never waking.
Sarah was a devoted wife, a doting mother and grandmother, a kind daughter, a loyal sister, a supportive aunt, a cousin and friend. She loved her family. She married her true best friend and soulmate. Her eldest daughter, 22, is a talented photographer and a dedicated mother to a two year old son. Her second daughter, 17, is so smart and gifted and is set to graduate high school this year. Her youngest and only son, 11, is a kind, passionate child who loves Boy Scouts and his momma. I can't even put into words the heartbreak this family is feeling.
Aside from the love of her family, she was passionate and dedicated to helping others. She worked for the MN Department of Veterans Affairs in the benefits division. Her work assisted veterans access additional benefits offered through the state. This was her dream job. She was empathetic, giving, kind and beautiful inside and out. She volunteered on several work missions, including the 9-11 Anniversary event at the MN State Capital. Sarah's untimely death leaves an unfillable void in so many of the lives she's impacted.
If anyone knew Sarah, they know she would NEVER ask for help. This goes for her husband as well. As her close cousin I'm looking past that. Losing a wife and parent unexpectedly at such a young age puts a devastating burden on a grieving family. Any help is appreciated; beyond just monetary. If you're local and know the family, please reach out to see if they could use any help with dinners, chores, transportation, etc. If you are distant, a simple letter, text or phone call can go a long way. Please help me in showing your support and love while they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
For those who knew Sarah personally, we ask that you share pictures, videos and beloved memories with her family. Her smile was too bright to let it die. Lets keep Sarah's legacy alive.
