Dr Doolen’s Retirement
Donation protected
Well, after 27 years taking care of a wild variety of pet birds, rabbits, reptiles, and other so called “exotics” pets as a specialty veterinarian, I have been forced to retire due to health issues. Over the years I gained a deep understanding of how these animals tick, both in the natural state and as captive pets. Many of my wonderful clients frequently asked me when i was going to write a book (or 3) in which I could share the understanding I have developed with those who wish to know their pets better so they could take better care of them. Now that I suddenly have all this free time I am starting to work to fulfill this need. The only problem with this is that i also suddenly have no income and daily survival has become a real issue. I’m hoping that some of you will be willing to help me out by contributing a few dollars to the Dr Doolen survival fund that I will use to cover such pesky expenses as food, rent, heat, student loan payments, etc. Any amount would be most appreciated - 5 or 10 dollars - whatever your heart can spare will go a long way to making the knowledge accumulated during my career wind up in writing and available to those of you who are interested in learning a thing or two about the precious exotics pets you keep and love. With love to all of my incredible clients and colleagues who provided me with an incredible career and now a chance to share the knowledge it yielded.
