Methodist Meeting House Legal Defense Fund

Donation protected
The site of the Methodist Meeting House, the most historic place in the City of Hillsboro, is proposed to be excavated for an Industrial Park including the graves of five Nez Perce children of Colonel Joseph Meek and his wife Virginia, a Nez Perce woman. The Methodist Meeting House was one of the earliest sites of worship, government, and protection and is a Cultural Resource Site in the City of Hillsboro and the State of Oregon and therefore protected.

We are appealing the City of Hillsboro's land-use decision to allow the site to be covered with a parking lot and buildings to the planning commission.

We will bring awareness of this matter and demand a proper accounting and memorial be required as promised by the City of Hillsboro in 2004.  Working with the tribes, all of you, and technical experts we will fight for this most historic place to be protected and remembered.

September 4th, 2019 at the City of Hillsboro auditorium we will present our case and need you there.  We also need financial support to hire a proper legal council.  We can not do this without your help!

All Money raised (100%) will be used for legal fees to carry this battle forward.

Please help us help the children of the Meek family rest in peace and not be covered by a parking lot and warehouse.
