Tyson MacDonald, a well loved 17 year old youth had been missing from small town PEI, since December 14th.

Sadly, the horrific RCMP update from today is news that no parent should ever receive.

Ever.

We came together in droves, PEI, to support this family with prayers and hoped against hope, for his safe return.

People helped with ground searches, social media shares and whatever small gestures of tangible things we could do to help Tyson and his family, creating awareness of his disappearance.

Far and wide, pleas were made to bring about awareness, support and prayers in the hope that Tyson would be found and prayers and compassion were asked for his family, navigating the tragedy of that.

Far and wide, anyone and everyone with a caring heart listened and prayed and actively tried to find this precious young man.

Anyone and everyone with a caring heart.

Collectively, the pain and grief and loss was felt deeply by all, who surrounded this family with prayers and hung onto hope for Tyson to come home.

Now?

Hearts are shattered. Devastated. Disgusted. Angry.

Collectively, I'm sure you feel as I do, that our hearts are ripped out of our chests with gut-wrenching empathy for his family, now with arms ever to be empty of Tyson's hugs.

Ever abundantly so, support is ever more needed, for Tyson's grieving and heart stricken family.

Ever abundantly so.

Far and wide, please hold them in your caring thoughts and prayers.

Please do.

Pray for the students and school faculty, RCMP investigators, grief counselors and everyone involved in grappling with the understanding and processing of this horrific tragedy.

Disbelief, knee buckling grief and anger are emotions rising in many a heart, after learning of today's update.

I know appalled anger is rising and entrenching deeply in my own heart.

Deeply rising and deeply entrenching.

As it's been said before, this tragedy is far impacting and the grief is enormous for Tyson's family, immediate and extended and his friends.

Tyson was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson and a 17 year old teenager who had a right to walk across the stage at his upcoming high school graduation and to live to be a very old man of which, that gift has been taken away from him.

Our hearts break for his family.

Breaks.

There are no words to capture the magnitude of the collective grief we all feel for this family.

No magic words will ever make any part of this, any better or any easier for this family but if there were?

We'd say them a million, gazillion times over.

My goodness, we'd all say them.

As we stand in this huge gap of unchartered territory for small town PEI, may we never for one minute, stop continuing to care and lavish great love and empathy on this family.

Let's stand in prayer for justice.

Light always exposes the darkness.

Leave the light on for Tyson. ❤
