HELP KIM GET BACK ON HER FEET
In 2009 Kim was diagnosed with diabetes when hospitalized for a right foot abscess.
Last year due to complications and infections, all the toes on the right foot were removed—a transmetatarsal amputation. This year the procedure was repeated on her left foot. Recent complications have kept her in St David's rehab hospital in Austin.
As a massage therapist for the last 25 years and through spa and private practice, Kim has touched thousands of lives. She recognized she had found her calling while in massage school and devoted her energy and compassion for others through therapeutic touch as well as education; helping them to heal injuries and eliminate unnecessary stressors from their lives.
This recent surgery and her current status in rehab to strengthen and learn non-weight bearing techniques, does not allow her to work. It will be a minimum of 90 days before the evaluation of her ability to return to earning a living. Meeting monthly bills and increasing medical expenses are impossible now.
I have known Kim for over 15 years and have received her skilled, healing treatments as well as her loyal friendship. She is motivated and optimistic with her healing and recovery.
However, she has historically been in the position of caring for others and her generosity has changed many lives. It is very difficult for her to ask for your assistance, but she recognizes the absolute necessity now.
Please contribute to Kim’s recovery by making a donation through gofundme. You can donate anonymously on this site. If you prefer to use Paypal, or to send a check, please write to me here, as gofundme suggests not publishing email addresses. All of the funds will go towards medical expenses and post operative care. All contributions are gratefully received.
On behalf of Kim and her friends, I am also grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support expressed to her over the last two weeks and, undoubtedly, in the months to come.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity and compassion.
Love to all,
Leena
