Largest Food Bank destroyed by Fire!
Donation protected
On 8/14/23, at approximately 8:15pm the ACOJ food pantry was ablaze. The pantry located at The Apostolic Church of Jesus, Fellowship Ministries located at 444 Ford St Altamonte Springs was recently awarded “Agency of The Year 2023” by Second Harvest Food Bank. The pantry is the largest and most efficient in all of Seminole County providing more than 1.5 million meals last year alone.
There was a huge law enforcement/fire and rescue response. The effort to put the flames out was amazing. Losing everything inside the building from non perishable food, perishable food, appliances, refrigerators, freezers, supplies, etc... The pantry may be a total lost.
However, still receiving food to help accommodate the families in need, we unfortunately now have no where to store the remaining food for the next distribution and food may go to waste.
This pantry has been operating for over 30 years and has been covered by many news outlets including channels 2, 6, 9 and 13 for how they provided food especially during the pandemic.
Apostle Preston Rolle being Cheif pastor of the church and Herbert Bouey being the the overseer and the head of running the food bank. Herbert continual efforts and the many volunteers coming out to help at each giveaway make this food pantry very important to the community. But unfortunately, the food pantry may now have to shut down after today. The community will be devastated. We're asking for prayers, service and monetary donations to restore the building and get it back up and running.
If you're able to swing by and volunteer please do so. But more importantly we need donations to restore what was lost.
Please be in sincere prayers...
Thank you for your kindness and help!!!
