John's Journey

Hi,

My name is Alison Perry-Davies and I am creating this Go Fund Me account to raise funds for my brother John Perry's family. All funds will go directly to John's wife Candace and their boys.

John was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer in the brain. While I type this he now has 8 tumours in his brain and the doctors tell them his time is very short.

John has walked through this horrible diagnosis with grace and gratitude for the beautiful life that he has been gifted with. He is a Christian and his faith in God has only grown stronger in the midst of all of this.

He has from day one been nothing short of inspirational in the way he has chosen to walk out this horrible diagnosis. One such example is that on Tuesday while we were still in Alberta in their home waiting for John and Candace and Danny to return from the oncologist visit to get the report from the last MRI, John rushed into the house ahead of Candace and Danny and said to us... Look, the news isn't good, 5 new tumours I only have a few months left, and this is really hard for Candace and the boys we just really need to support them in this....

And that right there, is my brother in a nutshell...

What can I do to make life better for my wife and kids,

this is who John is.

Candace works as an advanced life support paramedic and has been working 6 out of 7 days right now taking overtime shifts to make all this work while caring for John... she needs to be able to rest before she goes into burnout and that is where she starts her grief...

This is of course something they did not plan for and they could use some financial support right now as they go into this last phase of this diagnosis and Candace will need to take some time off work to be with John and then ultimately grieve and plan for his funeral arrangements.
