Reducing Plastic Waste

Donation protected
ASK: I'm running a crowd funding initiative to continue the recycling of pool Inflatables. To raise funds to upgrade my 20 yr old domestic sewing machine, (which has surprisingly lasted so far, yet is not build for this purpose) into an industrial sewing machine to allow me to be more efficient and effective in recycling plastic and process thicker plastics and rubber into reusable product.

PURPOSE: My mission is to reduce plastic waste by recycling and reusing punctured pool inflatables. With this in mind I have started my not for profit business called PLOYS in 2020, creating unique bags, purses and accessories from soft PVC plastic waste and hereby diverting plastic from landfill and ocean, into a functional product. A percentage of sales goes back into to Great Barrier Reef Foundation and as a not for profit all income goes back into collecting and recycling plastics.

WHO ARE WE: PLOYS stands for a clever plan to reduce plastic waste by repurposing pool inflatables that are not recycled through mainstream waste. As a not for profit, sole trader, not GST registered social enterprise I'm excluded from applying for council or government run grants. I'm a mum and healthcare worker who with the support of her husband runs an eco business.

Since starting in 2020 we have diverted 1 tonne of pool inflatables from impacting on our environment. Please help us to continue this by supporting an upgrade to our equipment.
