My pilot dream #pilotpaida

My name is Paidamwoyo , although I generally go by the nickname Paida. I am currently training to become a commercial pilot. I completed and passed both my theoretical and practical examinations for the basic part of my training. Achieving an average score of 88% in my theoretical knowledge. But I need your help to finally get into the cockpit.
The aviation industry has for many years struggled with diversity in the cockpit. Even today being a pilot is still seen to many as a mans job, with only 6% of the worlds pilots being female.
The cost of training has been a barrier for many people from lower economic backgrounds. It generally costs intotal about £100,000 or more to become an airline pilot. But there is no government or airline support for the training . Most people are forced to take out loans against a property, save this enormous figure with many years working in a different industry or simply give up on their dreams.
I have managed to get so far mostly with the amazing help of my mother. Who has been working tirelessly as a Nurse. Sometimes working five or six days straight doing 12 hour night shifts. I was then fortunate enough to receive a scholarship from the amazing Arlan Hamilton to help with part of my training fees. This women is doing so many amazing things and I am so grateful for all her support. You could can also support her by purchasing her book : It’s about damn time.
I was also able to get another scholarship from The Black Foundation. Which greatly helped with equipment, license renewal, transportation, food & school expenses.
My final step is to complete my type rating training on the 737 that would allow me to start flying passengers.
I would be so grateful for any support or help. I want to become a pilot because I love the freedom that flying brings. Only 6% of pilots in the world are women and less than 1% are black. I can only imagine the inspiration I will be able to give walking around in my uniform in the airport terminals. But more importantly to go to career events, where I would be able to inspire the next generation of female pilots.
Breakdown of costs:
Type rating €30,000 ( £25,000 ) with Ryanair
£1600 for license conversion
£500 uniform
£250 airside pass
£2000 for accommodation and transportation during the three month course
£1000 for headphones
Gofundme transaction fees of 2.9%
Any remaining will be used to keep my skills and licence current and valid.
Thank you so much x
