Princess Aubrey's hearing aids
Donation protected
I would like to start off with saying thank you for taking the time to look at this website! The reason I am asking for donations is that my baby girl needs hearing aids and as you may or may not know they are very expensive. Aubrey is the youngest and only girl of four, and with three older brothers she is one tough cookie. We began to believe Aubrey had hearing difficulty when she was about two, trying to believe she was just a late talker, like her brother before her. We have asked the pediatrician if we should be concerned and should she get a hearing test. Well after asking, we were told that we should have nothing to worry about, she has never had an ear infection or any other problems with her ears. So we left the doctors believing that we may be picking on her. She is probably just stubborn like her brothers?! So about a year and a half go by and she is still having difficulty with trying to communicate, we would see that she would try her best to understand and sometimes she just start feeling fed up. So we decide to ask the doctor again about getting a hearing test and she said again she really dont see any need for one but referred us to child find. We had several appointment with them also asking about her hearing, they Also told me they dont believe she needed one and wrote notes and lead me to believe she had a comprehensive disorder. SO as you can see where our frustration lays when she starts pre-k and her teacher asks me have I ever thought that maybe she has a hearing problem. So when I hear her say that I ask her will you please write a note so I could give it to her doctor because I have asked and have been told no. So the journey begins... the teachers and school have been so wonderful with helping out and even brought in a hearing testing machine in early just for aubrey, but she was unable to follow directions due to the fact she could not hear. So then we went to dr. Horton a wonderful audiologist who works with Anne Arundel county school, and she found out that Aubrey has severe hearing loss and and will need hearing aids in both ears. :( At this time I was devastated to hear my baby girl has been struggling this whole time. We are now seeing specialist along with Dr. Horton. We still have a few test to go. And as I stated before she has three brothers, soo we are a big family with only a limited income. And with chrismas coming soon we really need the help. Again thank you soo much for taking the time to read this. Any little bit will be greatly appreciated. God bless
