Farm Family Fund for Reese's Recovery

Dear Farm Family, Friends of Shalegh, and Friends of Reese,
Last night in an unfortunate and unforeseeable accident, our friend Shalegh's horse, Reese, sustained a terrible injury to her eye resulting in an emergency trip to New Hampshire. Reese will be having surgery today to remove the eye as it could not be saved.
As horse lovers, horse owners, and animal enthusiasts, we all know what it can be like when a beloved animal sustains an injury which requires immediate medical attention. We can also appreciate the financial reality of how quickly an emergency veterinary bill can grow. From an emergency farm call and visit from the local vet, to an emergency trailer ride to New Hampshire, evaluation and surgery at the clinic in Rochester, board and after care costs, a trailer ride home...the costs add quickly and are exhorbitant.
Shalegh didn't hesitate to take care of Reese and get her the medical attention that she needed, but the bills are a major financial stretch. I am springing into action to see if we might be able to help her ease the financial burden a bit as I know we would each hope that our horse community would do the same for us under such circumstances. If you can contribute a few dollars toward these unforeseen vet bills as a pay it forward, we hope that good luck will follow you and your animals and that good friends will help you, too, if bad luck strikes. If we raise more money than our goal, any overage will be donated to our local Humane Society.
Hopefully such traumas are few and far between, but they are easier managed when shared with friends. So many members of our farm family have already sprung into action with trips to NH and back and tremendous displays of support and for that we are so very grateful.
