Baby Emmy

Emery just turned 2 months old. She is our rainbow baby after losing our daughter at 34 weeks in December 2022.
Emery was a premie born on November 13th at 35 weeks and spent 11 long days in the nicu.
We were all so very happy to have our sweet baby home.
Unfortunately, on January 4th we realized she was sick and having trouble breathing. She tested positive for RSV and was admitted to our local hospital. After just an hour there they realized she was stopping breathing and her heart rate was dropping dangerously low. They transferred her to UK children’s hospital and she was admitted to the PICU. She was intubated that first night and we had a couple very rough days of alarms constantly going off and seeing the room quickly fill with people to work on her.
On January 8th she was deemed stable enough to get off the ventilator and was successfully taken off.
The next day one of the nurses attempted to feed her with a bottle twice. She was discharged to the regular pediatric floor and I was enjoying getting to hold my girl.
While I was holding her I felt her tense up, cry and then her heart rate and oxygen crashed. She was limp and turning blue. Nurses filled the room quickly to work on her.
A chest x ray showed she had a pneumothorax and had aspirated, after much debate the doctors decided to take a wait and see approach.
It was obvious Emery was struggling so hard to breathe. She was placed on the highest flow of oxygen and monitored closely. Still she struggled with breathing.
On Friday she had a really good day and her oxygen support was decreased some. We thought she was finally improving. However Friday night she started getting a fever and fussy, she once again required high levels of oxygen and was just struggling so hard to breathe.
On Saturday(Jan 13th)they ordered a ct scan and it shows that Emery has bacterial pneumonia throughout her lungs and she has now been put back on the ventilator. She is still requiring high levels of oxygen support and has no real improvement since being on the ventilator. I( her mom) have been staying at the hospital with her since she was admitted. I have not been working due to this and her dad has been back and forth from home to the hospital for work and to care for our other kids.
Due to me not working and travel expenses this is putting a huge financial burden on our family but I cannot imagine having to leave my baby alone for hours everyday while she is fighting like this. This has been a nightmare seeing our tiny baby go through so much and we can use all the help we can get so we can remain by her side and still be able to pay our bills and cover travel expenses.
