Loving on the Lloyds
Ted and Rochelle Lloyd of Hemet CA have some immediate needs because of a fall Rochelle sustained on July 14, 2019. When Rochelle went into the kitchen on that Sunday night, she slipped in a small water puddle on the floor and went down hard. She ended up breaking her knee in numerous places and breaking the ulna bone in her left arm. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. She ended up needing immediate reconstructive surgery of her left knee, complete with bone grafting and screws. The elbow didn’t need surgery and shall heal over time. One major problem is that health insurance premiums for Rochelle, being a type 1 diabetic over 60, are exorbitant, being over 1,000.00 monthly. So, health insurance is unaffordable.
She was in the hospital for 9 days and went through extensive knee surgery. The expenses for these items including ambulance, x-rays, many doctors’ services in the hospital, physical therapy and more x-rays and CT scans are coming together, along with loss of work, to well over the $200,000 mark. The Lloyds are involved in a Christian caring-sharing health association that will help with some of these expenses, but will leave many thousands of dollars uncovered. The Lloyds have faith that our loving Lord will take care of them some way, though they are wondering about the method He will use. They are part of a bible believing, God loving church where they volunteer their services weekly in lay-ministry. Ted teaches adult Sunday school while Rochelle teaches 4th & 5th grade Sunday School. Along with heading up the church usher team for Ted and Rochelle leading women’s ministries, they keep very busy with their home church. They also help support missionaries and have adopted expenses for a young man in Zimbabwe to help with his educational expenses.
A few loving friends, upon hearing about the accident have come forward to help by giving some funds, food and home care out of pure love, to the Lloyds. These acts of love are helping a bit with household bills, groceries and housework. Ted and Rochelle are extremely grateful to the loving few who have come forward to help them so far. They say they really feel the love and prayers of dear friends every day.
Myself and some others would like to allow more friends and loved ones (even friends they may not know yet) of Ted and Rochelle to help show support to them in their efforts to recover and go on with life, as Rochelle heals. If you would like to help by giving to their cause, your love will be greatly appreciated. If you cannot give toward helping them now on a financial basis, could you help by putting this message out on your social media such as Facebook, church prayer letter, or other media you might have? We appreciate, and the Lloyds will greatly appreciate any help loving friends can give in the way of finances, or prayers of encouragement and healing for Rochelle and strength for Ted at this difficult time. May God bless you and them at this special time. Thank you.
