SAVE THE LIVES OF CHERISE MASSAY AND HER NEWBORN
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,
This is a desperate cry for help. My friend Cherise Massay’s life—and the life of her newborn son, August—are hanging in the balance. We need your urgent support to save them both.
While on a holiday in Turkey, Cherise was suddenly forced into an emergency C-section to deliver baby August, just 45 minutes after arriving at the hospital. She was completely alone, with only her 12-month-old baby, Larico, by her side. Baby August, born prematurely at a fragile two pounds, is now 5 days old and fighting for his life in intensive care, battling seizures and clinging to survival on life support.
As if this nightmare weren’t enough, Cherise has been struck down by severe sepsis due to her C-section. She is alone in a foreign country—no family, no support, and now, no money left to continue the care that is keeping her and August alive. Cherise has been paying £280 a day to keep herself and baby August in the hospital, but the costs have become unbearable. Her insurance is refusing to cover the costs until her GP releases her medical records, but the GP has informed her that this could take up to 28 days—a time frame Cherise simply does not have.
Cherise’s funds have completely dried up. She’s exhausted every resource, every penny of her savings, and any help from friends and family. She’s reached the end of her rope. The hospital is demanding £5,000 by the end of the week, but Cherise is out of options.
She’s been discharged from the hospital with life-threatening sepsis because she can no longer afford the bills. Her C-section scar has become infected and has even burst open due to the lack of proper care. Her body is still ravaged by the infection, and she remains untreated. On top of that, Cherise has had to provide her own nappies for August while in the hospital, adding to her financial and emotional burden.
Her baby boy, August, remains in the ICU, his tiny body still wracked by seizures despite the doctors bringing his infection under control. He desperately needs Cherise’s breast milk to give him the best possible chance, but she can no longer even afford the £100 a day it costs for the taxi to deliver the milk to him. Every hour that passes without this crucial lifeline reduces his chances of survival.
Cherise is utterly trapped in this nightmare. Alone, powerless, and terrified for her baby’s life, she now has her 12-month-old son Larico with her as well, and she can’t even afford a safe place to stay. This is a matter of life and death for both Cherise and baby August.
We urgently need to raise £20,000 to cover their hospital bills and keep them safe. Every single moment is critical. Cherise didn’t want to ask for help—she’s always been fiercely independent and proud—but now she has no choice. The father of her children has abandoned her, and mentally and emotionally, she’s on the brink of collapse.
This is our moment to come together and save two lives. Cherise and baby August are fighting with everything they have, but they can’t do this alone. We need your help. Please donate whatever you can—no amount is too small. And if you can’t donate, please share their story far and wide. We must act before it’s too late.
Your contribution could mean the difference between life and death for this mother and her newborn son. Let’s show Cherise that she is not alone, that there is hope, and that we will not let her and baby August slip away.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, compassion, and generosity. Together, we can save them.
May God bless you all for your help.
With urgency and gratitude, Trinity.
