A Mommy With Ovarian Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Lyndsey. I am 31 years old a mother of 4 children. My 6 year old boy and 2 year old daughter are biological children and I am a proud stepmother of 2 wonderful boys 10 years old and 5 years. I am engaged to be married to the love of my life Josh at the end of this year. Anyone who knows me, knows that my family always comes first and that everything I do is for my family. I love my children more then anything in this world. Which makes my situation worrisome, financial burdening, and very stressful. I work very hard to support my family along with my fiance. We make sure they have everything they need. I currently bar-tend full time to support my family. My fiance is a Estimator and also works full time overtime in the spring and summer. Due to his child support taken out of his pay check every month we depend a lot on my income to get majority of bills paid, which does not even cover my medical bills. Back in September, I had surgery to remove a 7cm suspected growth that was on my right Ovary causing me such pain to where I had to take days off work. The surgery had a few complications... one was I was informed that the the growth tissue ruptured, but would eventually be absorbed naturally. Later to find out after they tested the growth and it was a cancerous tumor. The doctor which panicked suggested I go to a specialist. I took off days of work with my fiance to speak with 4 different doctors and specialist. I am now diagnosed with Ovarian cancer which the cancer is in my right ovary. Due to the doctors initial surgery and rupture of the tumor I am high risk of the cancer spreading. Over the last few months I’ve seen doctor after doctor fought threw the pain and stress, but a doctor suggested I have surgery right away. After speaking with him, he is highly concerned with the my initial surgery, and I was told that I need to have a hysterectomy as soon as possible before the cancer spreads. I am set to have surgery at the end of April. The surgery alone is a stress full event I feel consumed with emotion over. The recovery time will take 6-8 weeks. My fiance will be overloaded with responsibilities of physically taking care of the family... this is where with medical bill and personal bills we will be struggling. I am very worried about having this surgery and about the set backs it will bring, but my health and future with my loves are #1. I understand life is full of hardships, but a couple of close friends suggested goFundme! They said, "A mommy with cancer, can find some heavenly answers." The concept that if there are people out there willing to help out my little family in a time of need.. it would change my world forever. I appreciate all who have taken the time to read my letter of assistance. I would be grateful for all the support. Thank you, and I hope with the success of the surgery I can in the future I can PAY IT FORWARD!
